Today we spoke about:
“E pluribus unum”: is the motto (la devise) of America. It means one out of many. It is a symbol of the melting pot. We can find this motto on passports, official documents, coins, dollar bills and the President seal. It was founded in 1776 (Independence of America) to highlight the fact that America was a land of immigration.
“Ellis Island”: Was an immigration station, situated at the mouth of the Hudson river. It was called the isle of hope, the isle of tears. Immigrants had to take a medical test and
a literacy test. If they failed they were sent back.
Vocabulary: Lead, Led, Led è MENER
The maze= le LABYRINTE
