Hey,
today we first warmed up listening to an audio document dealing with CCTV at school in Scotland. Here is what we said about it:
Closed circuit control camera at school - A good or a bad idea?
GROUP 1: Even if the parents, teachers and pupils would feel / safer /
more protected, I believe we would lose our freedom. Although we would be / monitored / spied on, it would not stop the dangers.
I think it would be an invasion of my privacy.
Moreover, according to Corentin, some students might even be tempted to show off.
GROUP 2:
There are 2 sides:
- According to Jonathan, C.C.T.V is useless, we don't need to have cameras in the
playground because the violence is outside.
- According to Camille, if there was C.C.TV, we would lose our freedom.
However, according to Guillaume and Félicien, it would be a good deterrent. Students who may want to fight wouldn't do it.
They would fear to be punished.
Yet, according to Romane, cameras may not be efficient. This system would not stop the
pupils' behaviours from being violent.
You can listen to the document again below:
Then we continued the lesson with a new activity on phonetics. You had to learn some new signs and practise how to write and read phonetics properly.
See you,
M. Hattais.
