Hey,

today we have acheived to complete a LOT of things. First we warmed up with the event in Haiti and here is what we said about it:

There was an earthquake in Haiti about 10 days ago. This morning, there was a replica. It has been disastrous / it has made a lot of damage:
A lot of people have died and many buildings have collapsed. We don't know the exact number of victims / death toll / yet.
France and other countries have sent aid workers, soldiers, medicine and food.
The catastrophe has made a lot of orphans and 33 of them are now on the plane to be adopted in France.
According to Nicolas, this country is cursed. We could donate money to charities to help the country recover from this plague.

Voc:
- Natural disaster
- Catastrophe
[fi]
-
Medicine: des médicaments

Then we finished correcting your tests and in particular the True or False exercise. We also translated parts of the text:

"to be written by Maeva"

Then we continued speaking about the document p. 92 in your books. Here is what we added:

The cartoonist criticizes fast-food restaurants.
The people that he depicts have been nibbling for hours. They have big bellys and they have been slouching in their sofas like couch potatoes.

Present perfect Be+ing: il y a des traces visibles d'une action commencée dans le passé.
I've been repairing the car for hours. I feel really dirty now.

Finally, we did two little games: a memory quiz and a regular quiz about table manners. Finish the regular quiz (20 questions) for next time and calculate your score.
Here are the words you learnt today in the memory quiz:

"to be written by Maeva"

I'll be seeing you on WEDNESDAY at 10 am, room # 10 and NOT THURSDAY next week since we have succeeded in changing the time table. I'll be confirming this data to you as soon as I have any answer from the headmaster.

Take care,
M. Hattais.
