http://thecoolship.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Heroes.jpgHi guys,

today was quite productive a lesson about super heroes. You are finally getting there!

You first had to give 2 super heroes who had the same powers and you did alright. Then we determined who was a super hero and who wasn't.

Here is what you said:

A super hero is a person who has powers or strong physical characteritics.
- ...
- ...
- ...

They wear a costume / an outfit.
- ...
- ...
- ...

They save people and the world. They have good mental qualities.
- ...
- ...
- ...
They lead a double life.
- ...
- ...
- ...

Vocabulary:

- a vigilante
- evil = A super hero fights against evil. They are not evil characters.
- a villain

Ex:

Harry Potter is not a super hero. He has powers but they are magical; they're not "real". He is able to fly but with a broom, not like Superman.

Dracula is not a super hero because his intentions are not good. He doesn't want to save the world. He wants to kill people. He is a myth and he can fly. He is able to transform into a bat but he is a villain.

Batman fights against evil but he doesn't have super powers. He only has gadgets. So he is not really a super hero. He is a vigilante.

Spiderman is a good example of super hero. He has powers: he is able to climb walls like a spider. He has a double identity: he wears an outfit / a costume when he is not "Peter Parker", a normal school boy and he is scared of his powers at the beginning. He doesn't want to have powers. His intentions are good.

Homework:

Fiche A (mots)
Fiche B (tableau)

- apprendre la leçon sur la définition des super héros.
- bonus: pouvoir parler des 4 personnages ci-dessus et justifier s'il s'agit de super héros ou pas.
