Hey,
today, we corrected your written expressions. I gave you a set of documents and we did some exercises to correct to correct the most important mistakes that you had made. Hope you won't do them again.

Correction of the exercise + rule in French for the two preterits:
On utilise le Prétérit Be+ing pour mettre en parallèle une "action cadre" et une suite d'actions. L'important pour l'utilisation de ce temps n'est pas la suite d'événements mais bien de décrire une action cadre, qui montre ce qui se passe à un moment donné (toujours en constraste implicite ou explicite avec une action qui vient interrompre cette action cadre).
Le prétérit simple sert, lui, à donner une suite d'événements en rupture par rapport au moment présent, i.e. dans le passé. Il doit être utilisé par exemple pour les événements qui viennent interrompre les actions cadres.

For next week, you need to finish the exercise sheet about Preterit Simple - Preterit Be+ing that I gave you, highlight in the story of Emmanuelle the positive points, and turn in your corrected stories (correct your mistakes in green).
