Today you were supposed to be ready for a job interview. Since noone had prepared anything, I gave you 20 minutes to work on your interview.

Then half of the class was interviewed by me in front of the class. You had to grade the "job applicant's performance.

Then  Fatoumata replaced me and interviewed two people.

Finally, the first half interviewed the other half . Only one person refused to be interviewed. What a shame. You must learn to be relaxed about what we do in class and consider class as a place where you learn not as a place where you are  judged you or made fun of.

I will only see you in a month or so , and I asked you to improve your job interviews

You told me you liked this exercise. I enjoyed it too.

We started by speaking about Haiti 's earthquake
Earthquake in Haiti

It occurred one week ago (= cela s’est passé il y a une semaine).
The death toll is important and there are many casualties (= le bilan humain est très important et il y a beaucoup de blesses). Rescue teams were sent from all over the world to find survivors (= des équipes de secouristes ont été envoyé de partout dans le monde pour trouver des survivants).
The city has been almost destroyed.

Then we corrected the plan you had to make of the article p80 of your books.

Water problems for Coca-Cola in India

Environmentalists accuse Coca Cola of using too much water in their bottling plants in India.

I- Facts

Coca Cola uses up India’s fresh water supplies to the detriment of poor Indians. Coca Cola uses fresh water to clean their glass bottles.

II- Reactions

They protest against this accusation by saying that they have reduced their consumption of fresh water. Coca Cola is willing to improve the situation so it has made estimates of the world situation in India. To show that Coca Cola is a responsible company it is committed to WWF and CARE, a conservationist  and a private international humanitarian organizations.

CCL:

I think that Indian ecologists can’t accuse CC without proofs. I am shocked to learn that a multinational should profit from poor countries.

- Avoir raison: to be right
- Avoir tort: to be wrong
- Être engagé dans: to be committed to
- To be willing to do smth: être désireux de faire qchose
